The NYU Sonnet

Looking back at a Summer of learning and achievement at the Tisch School of the Arts makes every moment worth it. when we first go on campus were told it would be the summer of sonnets, emulate Shakespeare writing in all of our work .

They told us our schedule based on our danceability, and I was put in B, which was PERFECT! I had researched all of the instructors, and my group got all my favorite ones. It made a great start to the summer program. I found it was best for me to wake up early in the morning to be wide awake. My regular schedule was to be up by 7 am and be out the door by 8. All of the teachers were a blast and had fun ways to teach. Though our ballet teacher

was a bit harsher than the other instructors, I knew it was all out of genuine support. He said many

little things that still stick with me. One was if you bend your stomach will doing a plea, then all of the nuns holding babies in the elevator will die... XD haha.

But another thing he said was, "if you have the slightest interest in ANYTHING else, go do it... go do it now.

Because if I did, I would, this business is hard and will be tough, and you will fall back on that other thing if you don't do it now." It was shocking to hear that, but it was the

mini-speech that put a fire under my butt, it was what made me get up at 7 am and work then get back from the studio at midnight, just to do it again the next day. All of these teachers care for the arts and want the next wave of performers to be prepared for the future. This program will bring you to the relation that is your passion, or that is your hobby. I'm overjoyed that I was able to make it there this program and live in New York for a month... there's nothing like it!
