Exciting News! I have just confirmed that I will be spending the summer in Crossville, Tennessee, at the Cumberland county playhouse. After months of auditioning, going to conferences, and Straw hats being canceled. I'm so relieved and eager to have something over this summer! Though Rehearsals and shows will be different because of the spread of Covid-19, I know the faculty is in daily discussions on making it safe for its visitors. After doing two shows at this theatre last year (Matilda and Junie B. Jones), I know they do every production beautifully. It's going to be such a pleasure to stage all of the shows; I can't wait for audiences to see these wonderful stories. I know I'm a bit bias with the show Newsies; it was one of the main shows that made me want to do Musical Theatre as a career. It's a dream come true to be able to be in this Magnificent Show this summer. I really can't wait to start rehearsals and bring these shows to life in 2020!
Sadly because of the spread of Covid-19 the playhouse had to postpone their summer season till 2021. I got the email about this only a week after getting the go ahead. that's how things work in Corona Time, Schedules change in a second. Though this was a hard hit, I have been focusing my time on to other things... things I can control. I'm using this as a growing summer and taking the time to pin-point what I need to work on. This summer is still going to be great! Now my stage is my bed room, I will start working on my Newsie slits now! :-D
